PRE-PROCEDURE
- Arrive to your appointment with clean skin; do not apply creams, lotions, or cosmetics.
- If you are prone to “cold sores” in the treatment area, please begin taking an antiviral 2 days prior to your treatment.
- Accutane (Isotretinoin) must be discontinued 6 months prior to your treatment.
- Avoid aspirin and aspirin containing products for 2 days prior to treatment.
- Avoid blood thinning drugs and supplements (Fish oil) 2 days prior.
- Avoid Retin-A, Retinols, Glycolic, Salicylic, or irritants on the on the treatment area 24 hours prior to treatment.
POST-PROCEDURE
- Avoid direct sun exposure and sweaty exercise for 72 hours after your treatment.
- Avoid sweating, saunas, swimming pools, lakes or ocean water for 72 hours after your treatment.
- Cleanse the treated area with a gentle cleanser.
- Avoid exfoliating scrubs or brushes for 48 hours post treatment.
- Apply a soothing cream or serum to the treated area until no irritation persists.
- Use at least SPF 30 the next day and all following days.
- Makeup may be applied after 24 hours post treatment procedure
- Swelling can last up to 14 days and full healing takes 14 days
- Bruising is NORMAL
- Cold compresses can help tenderness and swelling
- Warm compresses can help resolve bruising faster
- If you received Sculptra, massage the area 5 times a day, for 5 minutes each time, for 5 days
- Alcohol for 4 days can increase the bruising in the area
- Heavy exercise 2 days after can increase swelling
- Initial numbness right after treatment is normal and should last about 30-60 minutes. When numbing wears off, normal mild tenderness and discomfort is normal.
