FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.

What is dermal filler?

Dermal fillers are smooth, gel-like products—most commonly made of hyaluronic acid, a molecule your body already produces—that restore volume, enhance facial contours, and refine features for a refreshed, natural look.

What areas can be treated with filler?

Common treatment areas include:

  • Cheeks & midface
  • Under-eye/tear troughs
  • Lips
  • Chin & jawline
  • Nasolabial folds
  • Marionette lines
  • Temples
  • Hands
  • Acne scarring & contour refinement

How long do fillers last?

Depending on the product and area treated, fillers typically last 9–24 months. Structural areas (like cheeks and jawline) last longer; dynamic areas (like lips) metabolize faster.

What is the difference between a needle and a cannula?

  • Needle: Best for precision, definition, or small structural points.
  • Cannula: A flexible, blunt-tip tool used for safer, smoother filler placement with less bruising, reduced swelling, and lower risk of vascular events.
  • Many treatments combine both to maximize safety and artistry.

Will I look overfilled or unnatural?

No. Our approach is conservative, balanced, and tailored to your proportions. The goal is enhancement, not alteration. We build gradually and preserve your natural facial harmony.

How long does the appointment take?

Most appointments take 30–60 minutes, including consultation, photos, numbing (if needed), and treatment.

Is there downtime?

You may experience mild swelling, tenderness, or small bruising for 2–5 days. Most clients return to normal activities right away.

Does filler hurt?

Discomfort is very minimal. Most fillers contain lidocaine for comfort, and we also use topical numbing, vibration anesthesia, and gentle technique to ensure a smooth experience.

Is filler safe?

Yes, when performed by a trained medical provider. Hyaluronic acid fillers are reversible with hyaluronidase, adding an extra layer of safety. Your anatomy, medical history, and goals are thoroughly assessed before treatment.

When will I see results?

Results are immediate, with full settling visible at 1–2 weeks once swelling resolves.

Can I combine filler with Botox, skincare, or laser treatments?

Absolutely. Filler pairs beautifully with:

  • Neurotoxin (Botox/Dysport) for smoothing dynamic lines
  • Medical-grade skincare for collagen and glow
  • Microneedling, lasers, and chemical peels for skin tightening and texture
  • We create a customized plan for an elegant, cohesive outcome.

What should I avoid after treatment?

For the first 24 hours:

  • No strenuous exercise
  • No alcohol
  • No saunas or steam rooms
  • Avoid massaging the area unless instructed
  • Sleep elevated and avoid pressure on the face for best results.

Who is not a candidate for filler?

We avoid treatment if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have active infection (cold sore, sinus infection, dental work within 2 weeks)
  • Are currently unwell or on certain medications
  • Have a history of severe allergies to product components
  • Your provider will advise you during consultation.
